Mary A. Smith

Mary focuses her practice in the area of family and matrimonial law, representing clients in matters involving divorce, property division, alimony, child support and child custody. Mary is engaged in all aspects of trial preparation and litigation, working with clients to prepare their financial disclosures, and also conducting internal financial investigations in connection with support and property division issues.

Mary previously worked with Boston Medical Center and communities in Massachusetts to provide harm reduction resources to individuals with substance use disorder and support to their families.  Mary uses her knowledge of substance use to help clients navigate and understand the intricacies of child custody and parenting when addiction effects their family.

Mary graduated from Vermont Law and Graduate School where she received her J.D. and Master of Arts in Restorative Justice, and participated in the South Royalton legal clinic where she served indigent families and helped them navigate the legal system.

Prior to attending Vermont Law and Graduate School, Mary graduated from Penn State, Behrend, where she studied communications with a concentration in rhetoric.

Mary represents clients in every judicial district throughout the State of Connecticut.
