Rob Britt’s practice focuses on criminal defense with an emphasis on DUI/DWI cases and vehicular offenses. Rob has been successfully representing persons charged with criminal and motor vehicle offenses, both felonies and misdemeanors, for over 32 years. Additionally, Rob is listed as a Top-Rated DUI-DWI attorney in Hartford, Connecticut Super Lawyers. He has received a superb AVVO rating of 10.0 out of 10 and he has a distinguished Martindale-Hubbell rating.
Rob graduated from Fairfield University in 1981 with a BA degree and from New England Law in 1984 with a J.D. degree. After graduating, Rob commenced his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting and trying cases for the State of Connecticut for approximately four years before moving into private practice, focusing on DUI and criminal defense. Rob received certification in completion and competency as a breath test operator. He is also a certified instructor in standardized field sobriety test procedures approved by the National Highway Safety Administration.
Rob is past chairman of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section and maintains an ex-officio status on their Executive Committee. He is also a past chairman of the Hartford County Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Committee. Rob is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Hartford County Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Rob is also a founding member of the National College of DUI Defense.
Rob has lectured for the Hartford County Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association and Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and various hospital and medical groups on the subjects of DUI, medical marijuana and expert witnesses. He has been a guest speaker on WTIC 1080’s Mornings with Ray and Diane, and on WTIC 1080’s John Matulis’ Law Talk, on the subjects of DUI and medical marijuana.
